LEGAL ASPECTS OF MIGRATION
(Critical reflection on refugee crisis and new migration deals in the EU)
28 February 2019
2nd International Migration Conference,
Law Faculty, Charles University, Prague
In 2016 the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague organized an International Conference on Legal Aspects of Migration to reflect bottlenecks of crisis management in the EU. Today, in 2019, it seems that the peak of the migration crisis is over, but what are the lessons learnt and what should be measures supported by the Member States in future to avoid failure of EU migration management? What is the future of EU migration agenda?
The aim of this 2nd migration conference is firstly, to critically reflect legal aspects of so called ‘refugee crisis’ and the measures adopted at the EU and national levels in the last three years from an international, perspective and secondly, to share empirical knowledge concerning application of migration measures and best practices of migration management on the other hand. The conference provides a forum to address actual legal frameworks and problems of migration from EU, national and international perspective and to share experience with the legal consequences of refugee flows.
We welcome policy-makers, academics (criminologists, sociologists, lawyers, economists, social geographers, anthropologists), NGO representatives, law enforcement officials and other persons interested in legal aspects of migration issues to participate in the conference.
