Team Selection Procedure for the 2020 Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition
The Jessup is the world´s largest international law oriented moot court. It simulates proceedings in front of the International Court of Justice where the representatives (team of 4) submit written memorials and plead in front of judges as both applicant and respondent on 4 interesting issues.
The current issues involve immunities from foreign jurisdiction, state succession to treaties, tariff barriers and use of automated weapons systems.
The selection procedure will require the students to present point d) for applicant (see the Jessup 2020 Problem https://www.ilsa.org/jessup-competitors/) for 5 minutes, argue convincingly and with use of international law sources.
The procedure will take place in the week starting on October 7, 2019.
International rounds take place in Washington D.C. during Easter 2020.

Requirements: students of Faculty of Law, Charles University, International Law module passed, excellent English language skills, interest in public international law.
