Law Faculty to Become the Centre of the Debate on European Law for Three Days
Before the start of the fall semester, our Faculty will have the opportunity to host hundreds of legal scholars from across the world, as part of the largest event of its kind ever held in the Czech Republic. The international conference “European Law Unbound: What Kind of Europe Can We Reach For?” organised by the ELU-Society will take place on 25–27 September.
What topics are currently in the spotlight of the discussion on European law? What does the situation look like in the individual regions and countries? Which challenges do we face in relation to European integration, security, and prosperity? Can today's Europe, with its pro-market orientation and human rights commitments, survive in the new world order? What brings us together and what sets us apart? How can we inspire and enrich each other? What does all of this mean for law?
What makes this event so special?
The conference does not focus on one specific topic, so everyone will be able to find what they are most interested in and what they would like to study in the future.
You will encounter new views and perspectives on different matters which you might not have even heard of before. You will have a chance to network with colleagues from abroad, start new friendships, and find new important contacts.
You won’t want to miss this extraordinary opportunity!
Highlights of the conference:
Anu Bradford (Columbia Law School), Maciej Szpuznar (SDEU), Antoine Vauchez (Paris 1), Gráinne de Búrca (EUI), and many others. The keynote speech will be given by Věra Jourová, a long-term member of the European Commission and a current Vice-Rector of Charles University.
The event is organised under the auspices of Martin Dvořák, Minister for European Affairs.
Financial support for the conference was provided by the Capital City of Prague and the Sekyra Foundation.
