New Partner University in India

The Faculty just entered into a cooperation agreement with O. P. Jindal Global University in India. Up to 5 students from the Faculty of Law of Charles University will be able to study in India for a semester within the new partnership, and the Faculty will try to find a way to cover at least a part of the accommodation costs from a bursary. Cooperation between academics is also foreseen in the agreement.

O. P. Jindal Global University is a private university with a large modern campus located in the suburbs of New Delhi. Despite being a relatively young university (founded in 2009), the Jindal Global Law School ranks among the top private law schools in India and 78th globally in the internationally recognised QS World University Ranking.

The University has many foreign academics and all of its programmes are taught in English, so foreign students may choose from a wide offer of courses. The campus is about a two-hour journey from the centre of Delhi, and a daily shuttlebus service to the city is provided by the University. The modern campus offers a range of services for students, including accommodation, sports facilities (such as a brand new Olympic-size indoor swimming pool), a canteen offering meals throughout the day, a healthcare centre, and a shop. A unique museum dedicated to the Constitution of India can also be found on campus.

A study stay in a distant country with such a vastly different and rich culture as India’s will, without a doubt, go far beyond a purely academic experience. And you will not be the only foreign student on campus – this semester alone the University welcomed 147 students from 23 countries around the world.
