Call for papers: New Technologies in International Law

NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN INTERNATIONAL LAW

International conference, 23 - 24 November 2023 Charles University, Prague 

Call for papers The Conference on New Technologies in International Law is jointly organized by International Law Department, Faculty of Law, Charles University (within Cooperatio project) and the Czech Society of International Law (CSMP-CSIL). The event is also supported by the European Society of International Law (ESIL). The international scientific conference is a space for presentations of the latest results of scientific work concerning the impact of new technologies on different areas of public international law (international humanitarian law, international criminal law, human rights, international economic law, international space law, etc.).

The organizers are particularly interested in presentations that address one or more of the following topics (although any paper proposal relevant to the subject of the conference will be considered): 

•    Cybercrime and Changes in the Landscape of International Criminal Law
•    Impact of New Technologies on Human Rights
•    New technologies and International Judicial Cooperation
•    Humanitarian Law and New Technologies
•    Outer Space Treaty: New Challenges

Target group: early-career researchers (postgraduate or doctoral level). Participation at the conference is free of change. The organizers do not, however, cover any expenses related to the stay of the conference participants in Prague. Collective monograph “New Technologies in International Law” based on the conference papers is planned to be published in 2024 by the RWW publishing house (https://rozkotova.cld.bz/rww).

Draft papers should be filed by 1 November 2023. Finalized conference papers should be submitted by 23 December 2023.

Paper proposals (250-500 words), should be sent to Dr. Alla Tymofeyeva 
(tymofeya@prf.cuni.cz) and Adam Crhák (adam.crhak@prf.cuni.cz) no later than on 1 August 2023

All submissions need to be accompanied by a short CV (up to 150 words). Successful applicants will be notified by 1 September 2023.
