Call for applications from undergraduate, LL.M., and Erasmus students for a position in a research team


Dr. Tomáš Dumbrovský, head of research team of the project on Constitutional Transformation in Europe in Post-Sovereignty Conditions, is seeking to hire highly motivated undergraduates, including Erasmus students, interested in European and constitutional law, case-law of the European Court of Justice and legal research.

We seek candidates, who

  • are studying undergraduate (including Erasmus students) or LLM. programme in law at the Law faculty of Charles University,
  • have a good command of English and one of the following languages: German, French, Italian, and Dutch.


We offer an opportunity:

  • to deepen your understanding of European law and ECJ case-law through legal research of primary sources on European law, such as ECJ case files, Treaties and related materials,
  • to improve your analytical skills through drafting of legal memoranda in English,
  • to get individual feedback of your work,
  • to network with other undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in European and constitutional law.


Your work will primarily consist of analysing ECJ case files from the period of 1952-1964, including argumentation of the parties to the proceeding, opinion of the Attorney General and judgment of the Court; and researching other legal materials related to the period. The work is reimbursed in the form of a stipend.

Selection procedure consist of:

  1. Submission of CV and motivation letter (max. 300 words),
  2. Short interview,
  3. Notification of results within one week following the interview.
