Department of Public International Law

The Department of Public International Law provides instruction and is engaged in research activities in the area of public international law. The staff include members of commissions and bodies of international organisations (UN International Law Commission, Venice Commission of the Council of Europe), arbitrators, lawyers, and experts specialising in various branches of international law (for example, international investment law and arbitration, human rights, refugee and migration law, and others). The Department also collaborates with experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and many other institutions. It provides high-quality instruction of the obligatory common foundation subject International Public Law, many other elective and optional subjects, and is also involved in research activities, including international cooperation projects (for example, in Slovakia, Brazil, France, Austria, etc.) in various branches of international law.
